This is my first attempt at recovering an armchair and footstool. I have successfully covered the chairs for the dining table but they were an easy pattern. Self-taught and definitely learning things the hard way, I discovered that there is an obvious sequence to how you put the covers back on. Next time I may check out a tutorial.

Alice in Wonderlamp
The Alice in Wonderlamp was a reaction to a six month period of not being able to create. I had just finished a final essay which I had been struggling with for a few weeks. I had this lampshade waiting to be recovered but instead of just a new bit of fabric and detailing which would take a while and no one would be interested in I decided to theme it. The ideas just grew and grew once I decided it would be an Alice in Wonderland creation.
I started with the shade once I had found the painted roses fabric at Spotlight. The inside of the shade has the Cheshire cats smile and eyes painted on it as well as the White Rabbit and a couple of cards. That was a bit tricky stretching the fabric on the inside. Next came Alice, the mad hatter, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, the Cheshire Cats tail trailing down the lampstand and finally the mushroom with the smoking caterpillar.
